“It’s an honor to have the opportunity to design the golf course at Soleta Golf Club,” said Hall of Fame golfer and architect Nick Price.
“We’re part of a great team assembled to create a special place for golfers to play golf, spend time with friends and have fun. The property has wetlands, uplands, open grassland and some great trees. We’ve laid out the golf course to take advantage and incorporate those natural features into the design of holes. I am also really happy that no wetlands have been impacted or eliminated anywhere on the property. These natural elements will be part of what gives the golf course its natural look and feel, which is inherent to the Myakka area.”
Winding throughout hundreds of acres of stunning indigenous terrain, the 7,400-yard, 18-hole championship golf course designed by Nick Price meanders through grass-covered pastures, oak-filled prairies, and abundant saw palmettos.
Well-placed bunkers and beautiful water-features accent the pristine setting, providing a challenging yet interesting and memorable round of golf.
Taking full advantage of the natural beauty of the area, the course is designed to be challenging, yet enjoyable.
With comfort stations providing refreshing cocktails and snacks strategically positioned throughout the course, the course mixes tradition with a laid-back playing environment.
Soleta Golf Club engaged Heritage Links, a leading golf course and irrigation builder with a proven track record of success with the golf industry’s top course architects and professionals to build the course. Heritage Links built courses have hosted multiple Majors, President's Cups, and World Golf Championships.
Renowned golf instructor David Leadbetter, who has coached touring professionals to major championship titles and worldwide tournament victories, is designing a world-class 30-acre signature practice and performance facility that won’t be found at any private club.
In addition to the expansive outdoor practice areas, an indoor center will include a state-of-the-art biomechanics studio, clubfitting, a putting studio, simulators and other advanced training technologies.
Designed to simulate every possible golf course situation, the facility will consist of a double-ended driving range with covered hitting bays; a short game area featuring practice bunkers with varying consistencies of sand and putting greens with varying degrees of slope; and practice hole with multiple tee boxes designed to provide any shot shape players need to replicate.
